End-of-May recap. Below: the SaaS reviews readers keep coming back to, the picks ChatGPT and Perplexity still cite when people ask for recommendations, and a free calculator we just shipped that breaks the email-marketing pricing question wide open.
Skip to whichever section you came for: the calculator, the 10 reader picks, or the 5 ChatGPT picks.
⚡ Key Finding (May 2026)
A 25,000-contact email list emailed seasonally costs roughly $300 per month on Mailchimp’s per-contact billing model and under $70 per month on Brevo’s per-send model — same audience, same emails, a 4.3× spread. We just shipped a free calculator that models actual monthly cost across 13 email platforms at any list size. It surfaces the per-contact vs per-send fault line that no feature checklist will catch.
Reviewed for accuracy and currency by the BuyerSprint editorial team. Reader engagement data from GA4 28-day window ending May 25, 2026. AI citation data from same window, sources include ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Copilot referrals.

🧮 New: Email Marketing True Cost Calculator
We spent the week comparing actual monthly cost across 13 email marketing platforms at every list size from 500 to 50,000 subscribers, with send volumes from 2,000 to 500,000 emails per month. The result is a free calculator that ranks platforms cheapest to most expensive for your specific list, with the affiliate links pre-filtered so the recommendation surfaces first.
The thing it makes obvious: the decision isn’t really about features. It’s about which billing model fits your sending pattern.
- Per-send platforms (Brevo, Sender) charge for emails delivered. Contacts are unlimited. Great for seasonal senders, dormant lists, and 25,000-contact ecommerce databases emailed quarterly.
- Per-subscriber platforms (Kit, MailerLite, GetResponse, AWeber) charge for active subscribers. Some still count unsubscribed contacts (AWeber). Best for creators with engaged audiences they clean regularly.
- Per-contact platforms (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, Constant Contact) charge for every contact in your account, including ghost contacts you imported three years ago. Most expensive model for legacy lists with decay.
If your list is mostly cold or you have a lot of dormant contacts, you’re paying the per-contact tax whether or not your features ever touch the contacts.
Run your numbers through the calculator
Plug in your list size and monthly send count. See where you’re overpaying. Five preset scenarios included (solo creator, small biz, seasonal sender, daily newsletter, etc).
🔥 10 SaaS reviews readers keep bookmarking
These ten are the reviews most readers have been opening across the BuyerSprint site this month. Ranked by reader interest, not editorial preference (though our short list would put #1, #2, #5, and #7 at the top).
Notable since the last issue: #10 Asana AI Features is new in the top 10. It’s the first time AI-feature coverage has cracked the reader bookmark list. The #1 spot is unchanged.

🤖 5 reviews ChatGPT keeps recommending
These five are the reviews AI search tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot) cite most often when readers ask for SaaS recommendations. The list is almost unchanged from last month, which is its own signal: once a review starts getting cited by AI search, it tends to stay cited.
Overlap with the reader list is intentional: #1 (Text to Speech) is on both. The other four are AI-only: they don’t get heavy reader bookmark traffic, but they do get cited when people ask the AI assistants for recommendations.

One ask
Reply and tell me what you plug into the calculator + what it tells you. If it changes the platform you’d pick, I want to hear it. If it confirms what you already use, I want to hear that too. Both are useful data points for the next version.
